C. Baiocchi et al., A CHROMATOGRAPHIC AND CHEMOMETRIC STUDY OF THE BARK PHENOLIC-COMPOUNDS - OF 2 POPLAR CLONES WITH DIFFERENT RESISTANCE TO DISCOSPORIUM-POPULEUM, Chromatographia, 39(7-8), 1994, pp. 481-489
Reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography with diode array
detection was used to analyze phenolic compounds contained in bark ex
tracts of two different poplar clones known to resistance to Discospor
ium populeum Statistical treatments both monovariate and multivariate
were applied to the results in order to identify regularities useful t
o discriminate the polar resistance and to check the importance of sea
sonal and cultivation site related factors. For the two clones examine
d phenolic compounds showed great discrimination ability not influence
d by either sample collection period or cultivation site.
