Abstract
Kluyveromyces fragilis was grown on deproteinised whey supplemented wi th diammonium hydrogen phosphate in presence of plant growth hormones, e.g., indole-3-acetic acid, kinetin and gibberellic acid. All the hor mones increased the biomass production by 35-49%. Protein content of t he cell was not stimulated by the hormones. However, percentage of ess ential amino acids in total amino acids was enhanced slightly in hormo ne treated cells.
