Abstract
Photothermal spectroscopy using a thermistor is applied to study the h eat generation by nonradiative processes in ceramic CdS. It is found t hat photothermal spectra of ceramic CdS depend on the sintering temper ature: i.e. the absorption edge of the spectrum shifts towards higher energies and the slope increases with rising sintering temperature (60 0 degrees C to 800 degrees C). However, the spectrum shifts towards lo wer energies region above 800 degrees C sintering temperature and the slope decreases.
