Abstract
The outermost layer of the stratified skin tissue is the 10-15 mu m th ick horny layer, the thermal and optical properties of which strongly depend on ambient conditions. The pulse response of temperature elevat ion following the absorption of a short light pulse is derived and dis cussed.
