Abstract
A differential stimulated I.R. detection scheme is presented in order to obtain a better contrast in crack detection on real samples whose s urface exhibits topographical and optical irregularities. A finite ele ment simulation confirms the magnitude and shape of the signals for ve rtical and slanted cracks.
