Abstract
A simple and easy to use kinetic model was developed for the calculati on of vibrational level populations of CO2 molecules in the upper atmo sphere. This model was used to calculate the intensity of IR radiation in the 15mum band of CO2. A comparison of the results with the experi mental data and with the results of theoretical calculations of other authors is presented.
