Abstract
Premature ovarian failure has an autoimmune mechanism demonstrable in 25% of women. The autoimmune mechanisms involve depletion of regulator y T cells and activation of self-reacted T cells through molecular mim icry. Treatment of premature ovarian failure includes hormone replacem ent therapy and, when fertility is desired, donor oocytes.
