The main components of the roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus have be
en separated by capillary electrophoresis in the micellar mode. The be
st separation was achieved using a fused silica capillary tube and a 2
5 mM sodium borate buffer (pH 8.25) containing sodium dodecyl sulphate
(SDS; 50 mM) at a constant voltage of 280 V/cm. The quantitative dete
rmination of eleutheroside B and E in E. senticosus extracts and formu
lations demonstrates the applicability of this method.
