F. Bousquet et al., DISTRIBUTED ARTIFICIAL-INTELLIGENCE AND OBJECT-ORIENTED MODELING OF AFISHERY, Mathematical and computer modelling, 20(8), 1994, pp. 97-107
We have developed an object-oriented framework based on Distributed Ar
tificial Intelligence principles for the modelling of man-resource int
eraction. We study the case of the Niger inland delta fishery and try
to contribute to the knowledge synthesis of a multidisciplinary resear
ch team. In this paper, we present an implementation of an Object Orie
nted Modelling simulation of the ''fishing-up process,'' comparing var
ious object interaction hypotheses. We then discuss the problem of val
idation and the advantages of Object Oriented Modelling for the manage
ment of natural resources.
