Abstract
The thallus anatomy of three different zones (apex, middle and central ) of Peltigera canina (L.) Willd. and P. membranacea (Ach.) Nyl. is co mpared. Important differences in the cortex of the apical zone and tot al thickness of thallus are found. The anatomic model of both species is discussed.
