An extended Fock space wavefunction has been used to explain the origi
n of the negative strange sea polarization in the proton. This explana
tion is based primarily on the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients appearing i
n the wavefunction and is independent of the potential and other param
eters of the system. The space part of the wavefunction is handled usi
ng hyperspherical harmonics and the effect of antisymmetrization is ta
ken into account. A rough estimate of DELTAs is also given.
