In this work, an experimental study is carried out to study the pressu
re drop of a thermodependent Iron newtonian fluid flowing in a circula
r tube heated with a constant heat flux density. The working fluid use
d is a 3% by weight aqueous solution of carboxymethylcellulose, a mode
l of many pseudoplastic fluids currently encountered in many process i
ndustries. Its rheological behaviour is governed by an Ostwald law tau
= K gamma(n) where the consistency K is highly temperature dependent.
The results obtained are compared with numerical results and the agre
ement is shown to be good.
