Abstract
We present an adapted version of the so-called FIC - Flux interface Co rrection - Zoom method for a numerical model of dynamical oceanography . The principle of such no algorithm is to satisfy, over a given contr ol volume, a weak continuity relation of the solution fluxes between t wo non-matching grids of a non-conformal mesh. When combined within a multigrid local mesh refinement technique, it allows then a conservati ve joining of the nested subdomains. This method is applied to one aca demic problem relevant to oceanic circulation phenomena, a barotropic modon, representative of mean-scale oceanic eddies.
