Abstract
We demonstrate enhanced loading of a Li-7 magneto-optic trap by broade ning the frequency spectrum of the laser trapping light with a resonan t electro-optic modulator. We achieve an similar to 20-fold improvemen t in the loading rate over that obtained without a broadened spectrum when directly capturing atoms from a divergent atomic beam.
