Abstract
Polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate in water and in the mixt ures water-dimethylformamide and water-dimethyl sulfoxide in the prese nce of the initiating system ammonium persulfate-ascorbic acid has bee n investigated. The effect of concentration of the initiating system a nd of the nature and quantity of the organic solvent introduced upon t he kinetics of polymerization and the molecular mass of the polymers f ormed has been studied.
