Some characteristics of nitrate-selective film electrodes based on tri
nuclear chromium(III) stearates have been studied. These electrodes ex
hibit theoretical operation in the concentration range from 1.0 M to 1
0(-4) M; the detection limit is 3.10(-5) M. The electrodes studied sur
pass the previously known electrodes in their characteristics and may
be used in solutions with high contents of phosphate, sulfate, acetate
, and chloride ions.
