Abstract
The Hammett reaction constant rho(+) has been determined for the styre ne addition of MeO-P-W(CO)(5), as generated from the appropriate 7-pho sphanorbornadiene complex. The phosphinidene reactivity is evaluated a nd compared with that of the ambiphilic MeO-C-Cl carbene.
