Abstract
Based on the absorption spectra studies in a wide temperature and wave -lengths region, it has been shown that in MnIn2S4 single crystals the alpha(hv) spectrum in the whole temperature range under study obeys t he Urbach rule, the fundamental absorption edge is formed by the direc t allowed transitions. The temperature coefficient of the band gap has been determined.
