For the first time the time differential perturbed angular correlation
(Hf-181-TDPAC) technique is used to investigate a recrystallization p
rocess from solution. The time evolution of the electric field gradien
t during the recrystallization of CoHfF6.6H(2)O from aqueous solution
was determined and suitable explanations for the behavior of the quadr
upole parameters in the whole temporal range are given. Liquid and sol
id phase are clearly distinguished. A discussion on the orientation of
the recrystallized microcrystals is presented.
