Abstract
The vanadium K beta/K alpha intensity ratios of some simple vanadium c ompounds, VO, V2O3, VO2, V6O13, V2O5, VN and VC have been measured by using a Si(Li) x-ray spectrometer. A strong covalent compounds in gene ral have large vanadium K beta/K alpha intensity ratios which can be a ttributed to the non-diagram lines due to the band mixing between the metal and the ligands. For relatively weak covalent compounds the cont ribution from the change of the diagram line may have to be included.
