The current trend in deinking systems specifications is the increased
reduction in the rate of specks remaining in the final pulp and a high
er brightness level with grades of waste paper, which are older and ol
der and of lesser quality. In our view, it became necessary to develop
equipment in order to facilitate ink detachment and bleaching. Starti
ng from the old Lamort hot dispersion system, a number of modification
s has been made on this machine to make it more efficient as a tool fo
r perfecting ink detachment with a view to optimizing specks removal.
The optimization of operating conditions has been jointly carried out
by Lamort and Solvay Interox and yielded quite satisfactory results.
