Electron tunneling relaxation caused by acoustic phonon scattering in
semiconductor double quantum wens subject to a perpendicular magnetic
field is calculated. Due to the interwell interference contribution in
the matrix element of the electron-phonon interaction, the relaxation
rate shows oscillations as a function of the magnetic field and level
splitting. Significant (more than two orders of magnitude) suppressin
g of the relaxation rate near the minimums of the oscillations is foun
