Abstract
The additivity rule is employed to calculate the total (elastic and ab sorption) cross sections for electron scattering by molecules (O-2, N- 2, CO and CO2) over an incident energy range of 10-800 eV. Compared wi th other calculations and experimental data when available, excellent agreement has been obtained.
