Abstract
Two facies regions were found in the Kara Sea: Western Kara and Ob-Yen isei. The first of then includes two types of Upper Quaternary cross-s ections, and the second one - four types. Differencies between them ar e caused by sources of sediment matter, distance from them, mixing pro cesses of fresh and sea water, hydrodynamics of sedimentation environm ent and sea-bottom topography.
