Abstract
Results of genetic analysis of the trait of high tryptophan content in zein are reported. Offspring of reciprocal F1 and F2 hybrids of maize were obtained and studied. Analysis of F2 hybrids obtained by crossin g of plants from two high-tryptophan lines, htz2 and htz3, and plants from low-tryptophan lines demonstrated monogenic recessive inheritance of the trait.
