Abstract
The mechanism controlling stereoregulation during the polymerization o f dienes effected by Ziegler-Natta catalysts is discussed. We also ela borate on the structure of catalytic centers and the mechanism by whic h the monomer is coordinated to the allyl-metal bond and incorporated into it. The causes giving rise to anti-sin isomerization and formatio n of cis, trans, and 1,2 units in the polymer and specific features of the catalysis that result in the formation of iso- and syndiotactic s tructures in polydienes are considered.
