Abstract
A model for estimating the external dimensions of dwellings is present ed that requires only simple characteristics of the dwelling. The mode l is calibrated using large databases of UK dwellings. The results of testing the model against surveys of a random sample of dwellings is r eported. Applications of the model are described and include the provi sion of energy advice and energy labelling of dwellings.
