M. Kuzmanova et al., EFFECTS OF EXTREMELY HIGH-FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC-FIELDS ON ELECTROPHORETIC MOBILITY AND ATP CONTENT IN RAT ERYTHROCYTES, Bioelectrochemistry and bioenergetics, 35(1-2), 1994, pp. 53-56
Millimeter waves (53.57 GHz, 1 mW cm(-2)) were applied to right foreli
mbs of white male rats (Wistar, 180-200 g). The amount of ATP, and the
electrophoretic mobility of erythrocytes in six different variants we
re evaluated following different exposure conditions. It was found tha
t millimeter waves altered substantially the electrophoretic mobility
and ATP content in rat erythrocytes. Changes after 5 days of exposure
were the most significant.
