Ol. Kuskov et Va. Kronrod, BASIC THERMODYNAMICAL MODELS OF THE TERRE STRIAL UPPER-MANTLE - LIMITS OF CHEMICAL-COMPOSITION AND TEMPERATURE-VARIATIONS, Geohimia, (10), 1994, pp. 1383-1397
The approximation dependences in a form of multidimensional polynomes
for the calculation of V(p), V(s) as a function of the bulk compositio
n, temperature and pressure in the depth range of 100-400 km of FeO-Mg
O-SiO2 system are obtained. The influence of temperature and petrogeni
c oxide content on the wave velocity structure profiles is revealed. T
he algorhythm of temperature and bulk chemical composition reconstruct
ion by use of seismic data is presented. A selfconsistent model of the
compositional and temperature conditions of the upper mantle of the o
livine - pyroxene composition is presented. This model is in agreement
with the data of quasi-isotropic analogue of the seismological ACY-40
0 model. The temperature profiles of the upper mantle are reproduced,
a hypothesis of bulk chemical composition as a function of depth is st
udied. The calculation formulas of compression and shear wave velociti
es in the upper mantle at the arbitrarily bulk composition and tempera
ture values are presented.
