Abstract
We have studied piezo-optical effects on YBa2Cu3O7-delta in transmissi on. Induced linear dichroism for strain oriented along the crystallogr aphic axes of the twinned ab plane appeared below about 240 K increasi ng down to 120 K and staying approximately constant below. For strain oriented along the face diagonal of the ab plane, the effect is observ ed for all investigated temperatures and shows a roughly linear depend ence slightly decreasing with temperature.
