Two approaches (discriminating (1) and isoconversional (2)) to the eva
luation of Arrhenius parameters for the thermal decomposition of solid
s under nonisothermal conditions are investigated and applied to both
modeled and experimental data: Approach (1) allows only for the detect
ion of an isokinetic relationship (IKR) but not for unambiguously esti
mating its parameters and approach (2) makes it possible not only to d
etect an IKR but also to determine its parameters. These may in turn b
e used to obtain information about the actual reaction pathway of the
thermally induced process. The thermal decomposition of tetranuclear C
u(II) complexes with various ligands is used as an experimental exampl
