Most of the reagents commonly used for chemical etching of Cd-rich (Cd
,Zn)Te were employed on the (($$$) over bar 111)(Te), and (111)(Cd) su
rfaces of Cd0.97Zn0.03Te to obtain the etch pits, and to evaluate the
dislocation density and the misorientation between adjacent subgrains.
The advantages of the etchants employed are compared and discussed.
