Abstract
Two new substances isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of roots, s tem and leaf sheaths of Vellozia bicolor were characterized as 2-oxo-5 alpha,8 alpha-cleroda-3,13-dien-16,15-oli and the tetranorclerodane d iterpene 2-oxo-5 alpha,8 alpha-13,14,15,1 6-tetranorclerod-3-en-12-oic acid. In addition, the clerodane diterpene 15,16-epoxy-2-oxo-5 alpha, 8 alpha-cleroda-3,13(16),14-triene, previously obtained by chemical tr ansformation, was obtained.
