Abstract
A novel lignan, diarctigenin, together with the known butyrolactone de rivatives, arctigenin and arctiin, has been isolated from the seeds of Arctium lappa. Its structure was elucidated as bis-5',5'-arctigenin b y spectral analyses and chemical modification.
