A WASHABLE ROBOT SUITABLE FOR MEAT PROCESSING

A new robot has been designed for use in abattoirs for specific dressi ng operations associated with sheep and lamb carcass processing. The r obot is manufactured from stainless steel and its lightweight construc tion results in high performance characteristics allowing it to be ins talled overhead in an inverted dressing system. The prototype device c an be reconfigured in terms of tooling and programming for other dress ing operations and it introduces innovative technology into the meat p rocessing industry. The prototype has been successfully trialed at a c ommercial meat processing plant.
