Td. Hogan et Dn. Steinnes, TOWARD AN UNDERSTANDING OF ELDERLY SEASONAL MIGRATION USING ORIGIN-BASED HOUSEHOLD DATA, Research on aging, 16(4), 1994, pp. 463-475
Analyses of data from a statewide household survey of older Minnesotan
s provide estimates of seasonal migration activity that are substantia
lly higher than previous census-based estimates. More important, the d
ata allow for comparisons between the migrant and nonmigrant populatio
ns of the same origin state (Minnesota). The findings show distinct di
fferences between the two populations for many socioeconomic household
characteristics.
