Abstract
Internal-friction peaks observed by V.Yu. Bodriakov [Solid State Commu n. 83, 1053 (1992)] in ''technically pure'' yttrium are attributed to the relaxation of interstitially dissolved hydrogen pairs and to H-ato ms trapped by other metalloid (e.g. oxygen) impurities present.
