P. Bode, QUALITY MANAGEMENT AT THE ANALYTICAL LABORATORY, AN INEVITABLE COMPLIANCE WITH A NEW ORDER, Journal of analytical chemistry, 51(12), 1996, pp. 1153-1159
Society has set new requirements on the performance of analytical labo
ratories to increase the reliability and comparability of data. Labora
tories now have to show objective evidence that the analysis has been
done in a proper manner, with appropriate tools, and by validated meth
ods. International accepted reference documents have been developed wh
ich describe quality control, quality assurance, and the minimum requi
rements for quality systems and their management. The quality system o
f the laboratory for INAA of the Inter-faculty Reactor Institute has b
een accredited to comply with the requirements of EN45001, which follo
w the 150-25 guide. In this paper, identified necessities to change th
e working organization at a laboratory are given, together with practi
cal experiences with a quality system at a (university) research labor
atory.
