Abstract
First we derive a nonlinear theory of thermoelastic dielectrics with v oids. The treatment is bared upon the dynamical theory of elastic diel ectrics developed by Toupin and the theory of elastic materials with v oids established by Nunziato and Cowin. Then we establish the equation s of infinitesimal deformations and weak fields superimposed on a fini te thermoelastic deformation and strong electromagnetic field.
