Abstract
Hydrazinolysis of the glycolimidates 2 smoothly affords the glycolamid razones 3, which are condensed with acetone or benzaldehyde to give hy drazono derivatives of type 4. Cyclic carbonylation of 4a-h with 1,1'- carbonyldiimidazole yields 4-hydrazono-oxazolidin-2-ones (6a-h), the s tructure of which follows from the spectroscopic data and the hydrolys is to 7.
