Abstract
A simple and rapid enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method fo r the cephalosporin, ceftazidime, has been developed for the quantific ation of this antibiotic in solutions that have been eluted from filte rs following the capture of air samples in the workplace. The assay ha s the specificity, sensitivity and precision necessary for its use in determining airborne concentrations of ceftazidime in the workplace as part of an occupational health and hygiene programme.
