Cy. Liu et al., THE EFFECT OF INLET VELOCITY DISTRIBUTION ON THE TEMPERATURE-FIELD OFA ROTATING CIRCULAR PIPE, International communications in heat and mass transfer, 21(6), 1994, pp. 829-837
The temperature field in the developing region of a circular rotating
pipe was analysed by assuming three different velocity distributions a
t the entrance. It was noted that the shape of the inlet velocity dist
ribution has a weak influence when the pipe is stationary. However, wh
en the pipe is subjected to large rotating velocity significant differ
ence was realized. This is due to the size of the separation bubble wh
ich depends strongly upon the shape of inlet velocity profile.
