The spectrum of neon in the extreme-ultraviolet region has been studie
d in Penning discharge sources. New transitions are identified in the
doubly ionized Ne III spectrum below 250 Angstrom. Twenty multiplets o
f the 1s(2)2s(2)2p(4)-1s(2)2s(2)2p(3)nl transitions for n = 3, 4, 5 ha
ve been classified, based on precise energy levels established in a re
cent study at higher wavelengths. Several new classifications in Ne II
