IDENTIFICATION OF AN ARTEMIA-FRANCISCANA RETROPSEUDOGENE CONTAINING PART OF THE LAST EXONS OF THE SARCO ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM CA-ATPASE-ENCODING SERCA GENE/
R. Escalante et L. Sastre, IDENTIFICATION OF AN ARTEMIA-FRANCISCANA RETROPSEUDOGENE CONTAINING PART OF THE LAST EXONS OF THE SARCO ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM CA-ATPASE-ENCODING SERCA GENE/, Gene, 149(2), 1994, pp. 377-378
A genomic clone has been isolated which contains sequences highly homo
logous to part of exon 14 and exons 15, 16 and 17 of the Artemia franc
iscana sarco-endoplasmic reticulum Ca-ATPase(SERCA)-encoding gene, but
none of the introns. The homologous region extends to the 3' end of t
he mRNA, although the poly(A) tail is not present. The structure of th
is clone suggests that it represents a 5'-end-truncated retropseudogen
e (r Psi).
