Abstract
We analyze the present state of research on how small deviations of th e profile shape of metallic diffraction gratings (MDGs) affect the con version of the power (energy) of incident radiation at various orders of diffraction and discuss the possibility of using MDGs in laser phot ometry for metrological purposes.
