Bk. Goodwin et Tc. Schroeder, HUMAN-CAPITAL, PRODUCER EDUCATION-PROGRAMS, AND THE ADOPTION OF FORWARD-PRICING METHODS, American journal of agricultural economics, 76(4), 1994, pp. 936-947
Using a sample of 509 Kansas producers, we evaluate factors affecting
adoption of forward pricing methods. We focus on producers' human capi
tal accumulation and its effect on adoption of forward-pricing techniq
ues. Probit models are employed to evaluate producers' participation i
n educational programs and their forward-pricing adoption decisions. T
obit models are employed to evaluate individual levels of adoption of
these techniques in the marketing of wheat, corn, grain sorghum, soybe
ans, and cattle.
