EXTENSION OF THE RAIL FINISHING FACILITIE S AT THYSSEN-STAHL

Overview of the old and the modernized rail finishing facilities at Th yssen Stahl AG. Systematic installation of new equipment in the existi ng buildings and integration of the entire finishing complex into the plant's master computer system achieved an increase in finishing capac ity from 20,000 t/month to 30,000 t/month. Description of individual f inishing components. Production and finishing of Vignol rails as well as special sections for points construction were largely automated. Of f-line machines for head and tail tempering as well as hole-punching a nd bending were linked up to the production and data flow of the autom ated facilities.
