Abstract
The search for new electron acceptors and electron donors can be facil itated by the use of semiempirical calculations. Here, in a combined e xperimental and theoretical study the first twin-DCNQI-type acceptor i s synthesized (see Fig.) and characterized and calculations are used t o assess the structural features which should lead to the desired prop erties.
