MULTI-PROPERTY MATERIALS - MAGNETISM AND NLO PROPERTIES

Transparent magnets are just one of the novel types of materials which can be imagined when the properties of several materials are combined cooperatively. Intercalation can provide an alternative to other meth ods such as sol-gel techniques for the synthesis of hybrid organic-ino rganic composites and also offers the advantage of better crystallinit y. Recent progress in the combination of magnetic and nonlinear optica l properties in layered materials is traced.
