Rs. Juang et Hl. Chang, ANALYSIS OF THE DISTRIBUTION DATE FOR ZINC EXTRACTION FROM CONCENTRATED CHLORIDE SOLUTIONS WITH DI-N-BUTYL BUTYLPHOSPHONATE, Journal of the Chinese Institute of Chemical Engineers, 25(5), 1994, pp. 307-313
In this paper, the distribution data were thermodynamically analyzed f
or the extraction of zinc(II) from relatively concentrated chloride so
lutions with di-n-butyl butylphosphonate (DBBP) on the basis of the la
w of mass action. A method employing the Meissner equations for stoich
iometric activity coefficient estimations was found to be effective fo
r the explanation of the distribution data. The thermodynamic equilibr
ium constant for the extraction reaction was determined and the dimeri
zation (self-association) constant of DBBP was also estimated at 298 K
.
